Our primary focus at Nine Mile North is on building exceptional custom tiny homes and geodesic domes. We have 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, with many building projects under our belts.
We are excited about bringing our passion and skills to the tiny home, homesteading, "glamping", and affordable home markets.
Helping you make your dreams of greater freedom and joyful living a reality.
At Nine Mile North we understand that building Tiny Homes is also about helping folks find land to put them on!
With that in mind, we have partnered with an organic farm in Bruce Peninsula to offer land lease plots for those looking to live the tiny lifestyle.
For a low initial cost and monthly fee, residents can enjoy lifestyles of beauty, comfort and resiliency while contributing to both individual and community food security.
We strive to build more such communities in the future.
With a background in organic farming, and a keen awareness of the importance of securing access to healthy, affordable, and REAL food, we have a strong focus on growing our own food.
We do this through partnering with farmers who share our values, as well as building geodesic dome greenhouses for all-season growing.
We are also passionate about offering educational opportunities around valuable life skills. Our Mentorship Academy is a place where you can learn (and teach) those skills you always longed for (carpentry, farming, crafts, permaculture, etc.).
At this unprecedented time in human history, with so much environmental health and socioeconomic destabilization, we need visionary leaders to emerge to help guide us on a path to sustainability and peace on earth.
Andrew feels that his purpose at this time is to help find, gather, inspire and coordinate these new leaders, and together, begin moving society on a new path towards a bright future in balance with nature’s laws.
For the past 25 years, he has used critical thinking to look outside the box of the mainstream, to read trends, and to build the skills needed for community/self-sufficiency.
He is trained as an organic vegetable farmer, market gardener and maple syrup producer.
In addition, he has over 15 years of carpentry experience and throughout his career has worked on several affordable housing projects including building his own off-grid, shipping container, geodesic dome cabin.
Andrew is now combining these skills to build self-sufficient tiny home communities.
"I look forward to discussing your project and exploring how we can work together to achieve your dreams."
Prior to starting her adventures at Nine Mile North, Kate was an elementary school teacher in Simcoe County.
In her role as an educator, she was known for her dynamic programming which was centred around developing self regulation skills for children of all ages.
With her belief and passion in educating the whole child, she also spent several years delivering workshops and speaking at conventions to educate her fellow teachers throughout the GTA.
In addition, Kate worked as a Special Education Teacher for several years, primarily known for her work with children who had been identified as having behavioural issues.
Now she has left this part of her journey to put her focus and energy into creating a farming and tiny home community that encourages everyone to develop their unique talents and skills in a loving and supportive environment.
Kate is excited to share her adventures with you and is committed to helping her fellow travellers to reconnect and rebalance their relationship with the Earth.
Our name is inspired by "Nine Mile", a district in Jamaica's Saint Ann Parish, which is famous for being the birthplace and resting ground of the legendary Bob Marley.
Most people have been deeply touched by the musician, the poet and the sage that is Marley.
He is a great inspiration for us personally.
Bob's music is a call to truth, courage, integrity, unity and healing, for awakening to our highest potential as individuals and as a human family.
We at Nine Mile North strive to embody his clarion call.
We believe it is possible to create “One Love, One Heart, One Destiny” here in the north, Canada. And that's where the "North" in our name comes from.
At Nine Mile North, we are all about helping our customers build a better life and world, one tiny home and geodesic dome at a time.
Love the life you live. Live the life you love.
